With the passing of recent Missouri legislation, the door has opened for public education projects to utilize the CM-R delivery method. With our extensive experience in educational facilities, we are proud to have been selected by the El Dorado Springs School District as their builder of choice. Several El Dorado Springs schools and grades were housed together in this single structure, and overcrowding had become a big issue. This 22,000 sf addition provided updates and much needed space for students. The addition is structural CMU and steel construction and features a new gymnasium and several classrooms. Architectural features are different than ordinary gymnasiums in that a full height glass wall and beams open up the gym to the outdoors. While working on budgeting with the design team on the El Dorado Springs project, several items were identified as potential cost saving options. Items included alternate material finishes, methods and manufacturers. Some of the options were incorporated into the design while others were provided as alternates to the base bid.
