The Year in Review: Branco’s 2022 Project Roundup

December Project RoundUp

2022 was off to a good start after we managed to secure several high-profile contracts. Despite the slow-down caused by inflation, rising building costs, and labor shortages, Branco Enterprise’s growth momentum continued unabated.

Our construction output consisted of seven projects for local businesses in Springfield and Neosho. And now as the year winds to an end, we thought it would be fitting to round it off by recapping our top seven ventures.

Stone County Fire Department

Stone County Fire Department selected Branco to build them a brand new, two-story station. We had our hands full as we demolished the existing facility in order to make room for the incoming 14,350 square-foot pre-engineered metal building. The upgraded fire station–located in Branson, Missouri–boasts expansive garage bays, modern living quarters, and a spacious storage area.

Jordan Valley Health

Branco has been Jordan Valley Community Health Center’s building partner of choice for seven years running. Our latest projects with JVCHC included remodeling the clinic on Kingsley Street in Springfield, and renovating the Lebanon clinic and Price Cutter grocery store—which was designated a COVID-19 vaccination site during the height of the pandemic. This latter facility received $6.5 million in state funding as well as $1 million from Healthy Blue and boasts an outpatient surgery center, a pediatric clinic, and a dental clinic; as well as providing prenatal and OBGYN services. It was an honor to work on a construction project that’s so central to the heart of the community.

Neosho School End Zone

The Neosho School District injected $22 million into upgrading old educational institutions while also building newer facilities. Branco was contracted to build a 5,500 square-foot multi-purpose storm shelter for the middle school (completed in August 2021), a multi-function 43,000 square-foot End Zone athletic facility at Neosho High School (completed December 2021); and a 1,500-seater Performing Arts Center for the high school (in progress—with a projected completion time of Spring 2023).

Seneca School District

Seneca School District set its sights on erecting a new black box-style Performing Arts Center on school-owned property off Highway U and we were happy to come on board as their Construction Manager At-Risk. The scope of our other activities included bringing to life a track, baseball field, and softball field all designed by Corner Greer & Associates.

Olsson

Downtown Joplin is home to the historic Gryphon Building. It’s also where engineering firm Olsson has their office spaces which we had the pleasure of renovating. As their general contractor of choice, we gladly undertook refurbishing and remodeling the 14,500-square-foot workplace beginning with partial demolition. We focused our attention on setting up new walls and complementing the design with avant-garde doors, flattering ceilings, and exquisite finishes.

Jarrett Middle School

2022 saw Branco continuing with the construction of the Jarrett Middle School, a project which we were awarded in 2020. The elaborate $41.5 million project on behalf of the Springfield School District is designed to accommodate 725 students between grades six through eight. The pupil-centric design which has won praise for addressing safety and accessibility concerns features interactive learning stairs and an open-concept environment to stimulate study. The new football field with a track has been strategically placed to surround the outdoor activity space. The project is being built on the original campus site and constructed using steel and concrete. For convenience and safety purposes, the school will have an elevator and a storm shelter.

Diamond R-IV School

During the first half of 2022, Branco was appointed as the winning builder for the Diamond R-IV School tender. The goal of this project is a district-wide addition and renovation of Diamond’s elementary, middle, and high schools. The new designs were focused on improving safety for students, faculty, and visitors alike. More secure entrances were installed for each of the schools.  Work is still in progress and is projected to carry on until 2023.
