Branco Enterprises served as the Construction Manager At-Risk for the new Aurora Recreation and Event Center, a 32,700-square-foot facility built on a 24-acre site designed to serve the health and wellness needs of the community as well as provide additional event space.
The layout includes a full-sized gymnasium for basketball, volleyball, and pickleball, a walking track on the upper level, and dual fitness studios—one of which opens to a back patio to support outdoor programming. The 3,000-square-foot event area is designed to flex for large gatherings or be divided into three smaller rooms for simultaneous use. At the heart of the building is the lobby and concession area.
Sapp Design Architects paired functionality with distinctive visual character, using vertical metal panels, masonry finishes, and controlled glazing to balance natural light and energy efficiency.
